Downfiring Box in an SUV - Sealed AND ported.. how will it sound?

Debating going sealed with my 2 audioque sdc 2.5's 15's and possible going with a downfiring box for protection of the subs and probably going sealed. Was curious how you guys thought these 2 subs off of 1000rms each sealed in a couple cubes each.....

Or possibly choking them (they like 4-5 cubes each) ported with about 2.5 cubes each and going ported but also downfiring

My current box is just way to big and I sort of need a bit of my trunk back!!! SO I wanna take the subs height down a good bit.....

Need opinions!!!

Not exactly in the mood to tear down a good setup and buy another amp, build another box and do another install just to "find out" lol, dont have the money for fantasies like that lol

Just curious how SPl orientated subs which I believe the sdc 2.5's are, would sound sealed

downfiring works well in my extended cab. not sure about an suv though. all you'd really be wasting is some wood and a little glue. buy the sub you want and just experiment a little. personally, i wouldn't do 15's unless you're sure you want to go sealed. i'd rather port 2 12's properly than choke 2 15's just for the sake of having 15's.
