Down Firing subwoofer box

I don't know a lot about subwoofers so I was wondering can you put a down firing box behide the seat of a regular cab truck? I guess my question is would it sound good or not?

ive seen many of them and those who have them love they way they sound. never heard one in person tho (im not a truck guy and all my truck owning friends arent into bass)

It will work but won't get very loud.
