Doubling my system

Probably a stupid question that will bring much flaming but here it goes anyway.

How much would be noticed by doubling my system?? By this I mean making door pods to accept a second pair of comps, adding a second sub and another amp "doubling my system"?? Thanks in advance for your time.

So stupid question #2. Is 3db's really worth the hassel or is it a consideral amount??
Only you can answer that question. Dbs are relative so a jump from 100 to a 103 is different than a jump from 150 to 153. What is considered loud to you? Do you have the knowledge, time and resources to do it yourself or are you paying someone? What equipment do you have now?

Just an fyi it takes a 10db increase to "double" the loudness.

Right now I'm running CDT HD-62's in the doors, a single Sound Splinter Rl-p 12 tuned to 32hz all powered by the memphis belle. I've installed everything myself so far. So I would be attempting to do the pods also, although, it would be my first time doing it. But I'm willing to give anything a try.

The sub is dual 4 ohm correct? If so I would start by adding another sub to the belle since it can handle a 1ohm load. Then if you need more highs after that than look into adding another component set though most of the time one is sufficient.

well that makes some difference. But adding another amp isnt too difficult but it is tougher to set the gains when running two amps to the subs. I dont think the sub channel is strappable on the belle so you would have to level match them with a volt meter. That is unless you just wanted to try something else altogether. How happy are you now with the way it sounds currently?

I'm happy with it, but you know as well as I do once you've listened to it for a while it seems not loud anymore and you need to make it louder. The sound that it produces or clarity should I say I'm happy with it's just the level if I'm making any sense.

See that's the thing. I like the way the hole system sounds now I would like it to just be louder. It is pretty even across all the frequencies. I like a system that is loud but not over powered by bass / mids / highs. So just by changing to a 15 or adding another 12 would require me to add another set of comps or something.

well i am running 2200rms amp and 3 jbl gtis and plan on getting another 2200 rms amp and 3 more gtis and go from sealed to ported i am doing a street base not really so much spl so how much will i gain i am guessing around 6 db what do you think?

That's a thought, but with a 15 how is the responce comparied to the 12?? I listen to all types of music but mostly R&B and hip hop. I've always heard that a 15's responce doesn't keep up with the faster say kick drums found in the older rock.
