The best Double Din Deck for a 00-05 Impala would be the Power Acoustik ptid-7001n. Because it has a unique design that fits into a single din slot, and then the screen actually drops down, instead of up. No need to to cut or customize your dash, it will give you a nice clean look. The deck will not come into contact with that lip, that runs along the top of the Impalas dash, which is probably giving you all the headaches. Believe it or not this deck out performs many more expensive decks. check it out.

if u plan on keeping the car forever and you dont mind the looking of it cut the dash

but if you plan on selling the car eventually then just either get the one that flips down or power acoustik also has a few double din ones that are really nice

Right now, Im still 50/50 on if Im gonna keep this car forever or sell it, so cutting is out of the question for now.

I would rather go the DD route, but the Impala size is actually 1.5 Din, Ive only heard of it being done, not actually seen it done.

i would definitely go wit a DD. There is no need to cut the dash on a 00-05 impala. but it also depends on what model unit u r goin to buy. there are plenty of people with DD in there impala. go to naioa.com, and the audio section.

i just cut my dash in my car its a 1.5 as well . DD is the best looks so good and i have all the functions i need

I have a 02' Monte Carlo, and I thought that we had the same dash? I have had plenty of double dins in my car, with the only modification being knocking out the thin plastic wall behind the factory stereo.
