well this is the gayest **** ever. i signed up for a quad room as my first preference, then triple, then double, and at the absolute least single. well guess what i get the fukin single. oh man im sooooo pissed im going crazy. i was told that there would be like a 1 in a million chance of getting a single and that i would basically be guaranteed a triple or quad cuz sophmores pick the singles and doubles and freshmen get wahts left. well fuk. since i know a bunch of you are in or graduated from college is this going to be horrible or is it actually gonna be a good thing?

you get your own room?? I would think that'd be a good thing, im movin in my dorms for the first time on 8/14, i get a room mate, but hopefully it'll be another track/cc guy......how big is your dorm??

not sure how the dorms are at the school you are going to, but i went to northern illinois university and i guess it would be considered a single dorm, with 2 people, ya know the kind where you can stand in the middle and your armspan is about the width, only long enough for a closet, bed, and desk on each wall. i'm 6'3" about 340 and i really didnt feel cramped, yeah its small but you get used to it, its really no big deal... that and plus our floor was very open doorish, people walked around all friendly and we also had a floor common lounge with a few couches... ya make do and its really not bad. honestly dont be too worried, i even got girls on my single bed, it can work.

I'm about 6'3" but im only about 170lbs, i hope i get one of the basketball players beds (supposedly they're longer, idk), the dorm i saw was about 10' x 15 im guessing, small but liveable like you said......

Im with e1 else, why would you be mad about getting your own room?

After a month of living w/ 3 folks....you'd probably wish you were in a single //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

the thing im worried bout is that im gonna be stuck by myself when everyone else has their roommates to chill wit. like i cant stand being by myself.

i could never live alone... i live in a apartment w/ 3 people

my freshmen year i lived in a dorm (****** balls) with 2 other dudes...

guess it just depends on if you like company or your own privacy?

if you leave your room, you might be able to go to a different room. one that will contain other people who have to share a room with a room mate they despise, but look forward to seeing your glowing face every opportunity they get.

You're gonna be the weird kid without somebody to pal around with 24/7...good news is, you have all the jack off time in the world....but you'll probably be bored most of the time, just make friends with the folks on your floor

I would much rather have a single dorm room. You have al the privacy you need. You can study in piece.

Thats what im going to get when I start college. Its just more convenient for me

I would go back to the dorms if I could have my own room, really. Yeah I enjoy the food they cook there.

Anywho yeah, rule of thumb is, dont close your door unless you arent there or you are sleeping. There was a guy in our hall who lived alone and closed his door all day, yeah you can say he was the only guy in the hall who didn't get involved in things.

Anywho the moral of the story is I became better friends with people in other rooms rather than my roommates so yeah living alone should be something to celebrate IMO.

You wont have any of those nights when you stumble home drunk to find the door locked with a sock on it and have to find a couch to sleep on, or just pass out on the floor in the hallway, that was a fun night.

i think i missed out on the whole "dorm experince" cause everyone on my floor was a nerd... for the hall socials they always just wanted to eat pizza and play video games... (not that that cant be fun, but thats ALL they ever wanted to do)

i hung out alot over at my friends dorm on the other side of campus... jello shot nights every tuesday, smokin in the stairway, beer shotguns in the elevator, etc... LOL

wow im actually feeling a little better hearing that you all would enjoy having a single. only thing thats concerning me is the social aspect but hell ill just leave the door open like you guys.

see thats what i was hoping my dorm would be like if i had a quad. like be the party dorm room cuz if i need quiet time i figured i would just go to a library or something.
