hehehe, saw this on craigslist. not the worst idea in the world i suppose. hope he doesn't hit any bumps. Shoulda just gotten some velcro and called it a day.

v.p

Some people would rather not put screw holes in their car body for L-brackets, yes I can make a false floor but that will add even more weight for my old rear air suspension to support and if I ever blow a tire I don't want to have to remove everything just to get to the spare.

The only hole I drilled is for the ground.

You don't have to use thick, heavy, MDF for your false floor. Throw a thin sheet of particle board or something cheap, wrap it in carpet, screw your L bracket. This way you have no holes, weight is minimal, and you box is pretty secure. I have tried velcro many times and it never works for me. Maybe its the weight of my boxes, or how fast I accelerate around turns, but I think of myself as a fairly "grandpa-ish" driver. False floor is the way to go, no matter how you have to go about doing it. Be creative to protect your precious frame.

If you drill a hole for the ground, what is wrong with 2-4 tiny more holes anyways?

i have done several thing the easiest is use the threaded rod for the spare some cars you have to make a new 1 a lil longer. machine a adjustable L bracket and throw a nut on it.

you can also make a bracket that goes to ur strut tower and use factory nut.

this helps from getting jacked cause who brings a socket set and machined ss bracked wont break. the other ur insurance will cover cause ur bolted down...
