Door speakers - Driver's side dies first over the years

Goodbye!
Has anyone here, who has kept their door speakers for a while, noticed that the Driver's side tends to die first? In the family, a few of us have vehicles that we have kept for 10 years or more, and one of the things I have noticed the most is that I have been asked to replace the driver's side door speaker on almost all of the long term vehicles while the passenger speaker is usually still working fine.

I know this has to do with opening and closing the door on the driver's side more than any other thing. I was just wondering if anyone else here has noticed this?

no. something may be wrong in your install.

my passenger side comp set cuts in and out every so often only when it rains heavy for a long period of time. i'm sure water is making it's way into my door and onto the speaker causing this.

I hope not because they are usually factory speakers that I am changing over to aftermarket;)

In fact, that is how my Civic install got started. The factory 6.5 on the driver's side was making a buzzing sound, the volume on the factory radio was going out, and my factory keyless unlocked the car when it wanted to. At first, I told myself that I would just add an alarm, change out the radio, and put in some better door speakers. I should have known from the start that I couldn't "just" do that:laugh:

I'll spare you the gear I have been through since October 2007 in my Civic... Mainly because I don't want to reflect back on how much money I have spent since then:eek:
