I installed a alpine cda 9833 in my 1994 jeep grand cherokee. with it I installed an amp and power cap. When listening to the tuner everything works. When I play a cd the only thing that has any sound is the subwoofer. please help!

NO I DIDNT INSTALL AN AMP FOR THE MIDS AND HIGHS. I THINK IT HAS A FACTORY INFINITY GOLD AMP.

did you install an amp for the mids/highs? if yes, then you ran the power antenna wire from the hu to the remote on the amp

It may be possible that the factory harness does not integrate the remote lead on the same pin as the aftermarket one. Find your remote lead from the wiring harness and make sure it's going into the amp.

i checked that. the amp works when the tuner is on. when i play a cd only the sub works

You must have the power antenna hooked up to the amp turn on in the factory harness, sometimes they are just solid blue, try hooking that up to the remote wire as well.

hook up the blue or blue and white stripe whichever it is from the factroy harness into the remote of the headunit harness.

This is assuming you bought the harness and did not chop it off..

Exactly right. You have the jeep's amp turn on wire hooked up to the radio's powered antenna wire.
