Really works my nerves man, it's a form of art. Regardless of people like it or not. Many people obviously like it because it is the craze in the deep south. There are many cars that are simply beautiful, there are many cars that are works in progress, and many that are just a set of rims on a stock car...

None the less all of the owners of those cars are proud of them because thats what they like, and thats what the culture approves of.

If you don't have 'louds' and train horns and a big set of rims on anything in Florida your not doin it.

Maybe a stock VW and a Eclipse with a set of 17" rims with a popped collar with penny loafers will do it in the yank filled north or where ever he's from. But in the south it's all about the cars, because its a form of expression of yourself. Either you did it yourself or you had somebody do it for you, it is what you like and how you want to express yourself.

The VW jetta is far from stock, the Eclipse is not what I was talking about, it is in bad shape anyway.

'01 Porsche 911. Sure it goes for about 50k but get a Carerra an slap an RUF or Hamman body kit to further beautify the car.. I've seen a few Carerra's sell for low 20k with pretty decent mileage.

Not singling out the South, but I know some people here in LA that drive Benzes, Bimmers, Lexus, etc... all 80-120k cars, yet they live in an apartment or small house. IMO it's stupid. Money horribly spent. And people wonder why they can't get out the hood, because they spend it on useless crap

People shouldn't get upset when people don't like their ride or style then. If you build it how you like it, you shouldn't give a rats *** what others say about.

People don't have to respect the work that goes into it either, its just like if somebody came here showing off their burp system they put hundreds of hours into and it only does a 130, why respect the work when the end product is horrible.

I respect work that results in things that fit my taste. I don't respect just throwing money and goofy shit at a vehicle just for the sake of throwing money at it or to fit rims that obviously shouldn't ever be on a car anyhow.

Meh, I tangent too much. It does boil down to do what ya like and if you really like it and did it for yourself you won't get butthurt when other people criticize it.

For some odd reason I am not a huge fan of the looks of most Porsche's. Those are pretty good looking, and the ride is definitely amazing, but the looks just don't grab me, except for the Carrera GT, now that is one sexy car!

Just part of the culture, I totally agree with you. Down there it's all about the cars...and how you appear on the street...

Live in a trailer and drive a $100,000 dollar benz or bimmer...with a 15,000 dollar set of rims...

Just how it is, I can't say that I understand it. Personally i'd rather have a nicer house and project car and build it myself...just how it is. The choice they make..
