dome light prob

my dome light in my truck only works when i push the power lock switch on the drives side(to lock the truck) willl not work anyway else anyone seen this type of prob

What type of truck? Sounds like a loose ground can't besure until I know the manuf. of it. I had a recent problem with a 2001 Chev. 1500. Parking lights worked until you pressed the brakes then the P lights would go off and the B lights would come on. Also the brake lights only worked if you had the P.lights on.

its a 97 chevy 1500 im gonna take it a part and look at it today

Sounds like a chev. ground problem. Can't be sure
