Doing the big 3. Trying to do it cheaply. Need your input.

As the title says... I'm doing the big 3, but I want to spend the least amount of cash possible, but I also want to do it right(Doesn't everyone? lol).

From what I've seen the easiest/fastest way is to buy aftermarket terminals, but they don't come cheap... at least the name brand ones. I've seen quite a few inexpensive ones on ebay averaging $20.00 shipped (Pair) . I also found two sets from parts-express.com for $8.50 and $10.95.

I tried to include the three links to the terminals from above, but this website wouldn't allow me to include a single link on this post because it's my first post. I'll include them in my nest post in this tread.

I have a dual terminal port battery. Could I somehow get creative and take advantage of all 4 ports?

While I'm at it, I know that I have to use 0 gauge wire. Does type/brand matter? Or will I be ok as long as it's 0 gauge wire. I've seen very expensive and modestly priced wire on ebay and amazon.

Thanks,

Joel

What the hell??? I this website won't allow me to share any links. This is what it keeps telling me.

"Post denied. New posts are limited by number of URLs it may contain and checked if it doesn't contain forbidden words."

I get this whether I have 1 or 3 links.

I just did this same thing in 2/0 welding wire and it helped tremendously. I got some of the cheap ebay ring terminals (10 sets for 20 bucks) and like 12 FT of 2/0 welding wire. It worked like a charm (was a bit difficult to get into the 1/0 ring terminals but i worked them in.)

What do you meen by"helped tremendously?".Higher spl?Faster charge?I am looking to this also and am not sure of the benefite? Are the benefits only "seen" by a meter or is there a difference that can be heard?

Big 3 helps your overall electrical system, the biggest example being that it helps keep your voltages up. Having all the extra stuff for car audio can consume a lot of power from your alt, and the stock wires that connect the alt to the battery and so on are too small to make up for this new demand.

Buy awesome wire used from a forum //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif and ask if people have terminals.

What about the "Bullz" wire I see for $30 shipped for 4 gauge for 100'?Does the quality of the wire realy play that big of a part or is it that the more expensive wire is morte flexible?

Its more than just the flexibilty. You have to factor in where its CCA vs OFC or the strand count. There are many factors that come into play when choosing wire. I am not sure about bullz wire but I dont really see any need for 100 ft or 4 gauge.

The reason for the 100' is we have spent a good chunk of change on wire within the last month for ny sons car and 2 of his friends,if I have 100' on hand, the next friend of his will get wire alot cheaper than the 2.55/ft we pay at the local shop.
