Doing Complete System Build, Need Advice....

Hey all, I am putting a system in my wifey's 2001 Acura MDX. I have the following product picked out so far, just need some tips on the rest...

Pioneer AVH-P6800DVD H/U

SAVV 12" motorized flip-down for the back

RF P210S4 10" sub (fits nice in the factory location)

Custom amp kit & wiring using Stinger products

Dynamat in the doors and the inside of the sub-enclosure

Polyfill will be used in the sub enclosure as well

I want to know what everyone thinks between Focal, Alpine Type-R, and JL Audio TR series components? I have heard all 3 and can't decide between them. I will be using 6.5" components in the front & rear stock door locations.

I am also looking for a good 5ch amp. I have considered eBaying an older Alpine, but have decided I want everything to be new.

Please help me out with advice, pros, cons, anything you can b4 I come to a conclusion....

Don't they (Focal) use a carbon fiber or carbon kevlar woven cone vs the others using IMPP and aluminum?

For the Amp, Look into GT series or the Eclipse XA5000 might have what you are looking for.

Just a thought.

And don't go for the Type-R's. I have them. The Polks outshine them everywhere but Midbass response. The Polks and R's are on the same Amp and the R's sound Muddy next to the Polks, MOMO series.

I had actually thought about that. But, for the space that amp is quite large. Definately has the power output I want. I am considering using a set of smaller Alpine amps. They have their new "home theater" amp out that is supposed to be really nice.

Thanks for all the input, guys! I am still trying to get everything together to the install. I will have a complete write-up and pics when I get going onit.

As far as the Polk/MOMO's go, I hate those speakers! The magazines have rated them Wal-Mart quality (can't remember which one I read it in), but they said for the money you can do so much better. I might go the extra cash and purchase either the Focals' or the Morell Dotechs'.

the belle's are the shit, and memphis makes some of the best amps in the price range. i take it over an alpine any day of the week.
