Its stock whatever it is. If its not deadner then wtf is it. I would say about 1/8" inch thick

No that is a weather guard. Much like the plastic trim used in older model cars.

take it off. deaden the door. and you can leave that liner off.

And to deaden the innerskin how exaclty do you go about removing the firts skin or do you work behind it with no removal?

You can't remove the first skin. If you mean the outer metal of the door. Work around it. Putting the daedner in the holes on to the outer skin of the door.

When I did it I had some nooks and cranies I would have to slide the deadener into. My next door neighbor and installer had a spray bottle of vinegar and water that he spray very lightly that allowed it to slide before it set....
