Does this wiring sound OK?

Hi all,

I was planning at first to build and put only sub into my car, but I think replacing all speakers, and having an amplifier for them might be better idea.

However, main 'obstacle' is HU, which I want to keep original builtin due to controls on steering wheel, and LCD display.

Problem is this HU has only high outputs.

So, my plan is to do following:

Splice wires near HU and pull then near center console where I can easily fit 2xLOC's.

One for rear will also have 'Y' connector, as it will be used for sub. For that I plan to use passive crossover with frequency and level adjuster (something like this).

From there all RCA signals go to back of car (via middle section) to 2x amplifiers - one for sub one for for 4x speakers in doors.

Power cable goes over left side.

Back from amplifier wires go back to rear&front doors for speakers.

Basically this is idea how I plan to wire all - does that sound OK, or did I miss something?

Also, if anyone has any experience - do LOC's have any impact on sound quality? I know I could have better sound quality with some nice HU, but I want to keep original one due to it's funcionalities.

everything sounds good to me, but I'm not sure what you mean about the rear y-cable. If you're talking about combining channels I'd let the amp take care of that. A y cable on l/r outputs of the HU can be stressful on the pre-amp.

If your LOC's are decent quality SQ shouldn't be an issue. A good LOC will provide better signal to the amp than many aftermarket HU's.

With Y cable I thought about splitting rear HU signal (after LOC) for sub (where I have crossover+volume adjuster), and for rear speakers.

As for LOC's, is it possible to know how good are some of them?

I was planning on getting: this one. Do you maybe have suggestion for a better one?
