Hey all i had a very hard time trying to get 14ga spaker wire through the stock gromets. So what i was able to finally do (which was still a pain in the @ss) was get it through the top gromet to the car and the bottom gromet into door jab (by streching each part and slitting with razor blade), this way no leaks into door panel or into car, however some of the wire is exposed, but its streetwires 14ga, and is pretty well insulated. Do you think id run into any problems?

yeah door has pelnt of room, the speaker wire is flat. I was gonna try and get some more tape on it but its really hard to work in there lol. Well it started raining so tommorow ill have to get to the passengers side door.

awesome, guess ill do the passengers side tommorow, now im just waiting on the symbilink converters and cables to come in then im done with wires, then onto dynamat and anti-rattle //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

if the door has a factory rubber hose thing that all the factory wires run through then get a coat hanger and cut it to about 10" and tape the speaker wire to it and snake it through the factory hose. some newer cars have a multipin connector set up which makes it near impossible.

i tried to snake it through with a coat hanger couldnt get it, best i was able to do was get it through the gromets, so it seems its still water sealed as far as the car and the door, but a bit of wire is shown, i think its gonna be fine. thanks for everyones input

Hi,

I would take black tie straps and put 3 on each door grommet.

1~Put 1-at the top of both sides where the cable comes out of the door jamb boot.(also to keep the elec. tape from un~winding)

2~1-In the middle of the boot~Both Doors~ (To hold the cable next to the boot)

3~1-On the bottom of the boot where the spkr. cable goes back in(also to keep the tape from un~winding).

That's what I would do.This way you know it's secure, and don't worry 'bout the elec. tape comin' off. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Good Luck.

my car had the pin connector things.

i found a pin hole that was empty, and shuved the wire thru (there were actually 2 next to eachother open, and i cut the middle out with a dremel attachment) and it slid thru into the door //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

it just looks like crap thats it it took me and hour to do my first door then 10 min to do my other door and the kicker is i have a 2 door car.
hehe, when the time comes that some inspects my door jab and says eww you got 3 inch of speaker wire, thats when i know its time to stop talking to that person lol. No i see what you mean im gonna do the zip tie idea stated above and finish it off with electrical tape so it all looks black.
