i always add " make sure you specifically identify the item you want in your email or i will not respond" in my craigslist ad

anything that only says "item" is just a bot or scammer trying to get your personal info

last one i got they offered me an extra $300 for the item if i would ship so i told them to use the extra $300 for a plane ticket to come pick it up at my listing price...they didnt respond

I send them to the fbi headquarters in chicago, they send the check there and I tell them to go in and ask for barney fife to pick the items up. I have sent about 20-30 a year there.
