just started selling on ebay and a guy from canada bought my item. is this normal or is it some type of scam??? I beleive what he said and have a good feeling cuase of his feedback (all positive at 700 feedback)... take a look

Thanks for the notification. I will be using Paypal shortly. I must admit that I was a bit apprehensive in buying this item from you, as you have hardly any feedback. Traditionally, I look at a seller's feedback to determine the credibility of the person. I hope I am not being a risk taker.

I would like you to ship the lamp to me without any insurance. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not declare a value of the contents of the package. When an item is shipped to Canada from the U.S, we have to pay duty on the goods being brought in, ususally between 35-40 percent. In this case, I would have to pay another $100 once the lamp arrived. If you do have to declare a value of the box, please put in no more than $5.00 . I will assume all the risk. I am in kind of a hurry for the lamp, as the TV has had a change lamp soon sign on for the past while. Please confirm that you can do this for me. As son as I hear back from you, I will apply payment. Thanks.

Regards, Jack

tell him you will do it but require a money order in that case as paypal requires tracking which means you have to send UPS and insist on insurance on all paypal paid shipments. saving the email wont help you shit with paypal.

Thats actually a pretty good idea. That would be the safest way.

Well i ship from work and get a great deal on shipping ups. So what i should do is have him paypal, ship it with no insuranse.( if neccesary, the least amount possible) /done

that sound right...??

thats what i was gunna do but thought i'd check on the legitabilty of the meesege

if im not mistaken he is correct. canada has to pay a duty fee on the item. so if you put a value to it he will have to pay an additional amount to receive it.
thats correct, ut if he pays with paypal you have guidelines you need to meet to insure that item is received with tracking. My biggest problems have been with canadians filing paypal claims on me because USPS doesnt track over the border. Anyone so quick to defraud their own government isnt the most trustworthy when it comes to paypal claims.

Things I have experienced. I've bought a few items off ebay for cheap. Like $0.99 and then pay the shipping costs. When the seller ships the item they declare the value as $100, which I think is the maximum value allowed for insurance purposes. Anything above $100 and you have to pay extra. So they figure might as well get as much insurance as I can for no charge and do it. Then when it arrives we get tagged retarded fees which is a piss off. That's how it works at our post offices, so I'm only guessing that it's similar both ways. I've never asked anyone to put a lower value or send as a gift. I wish all sellers would though.
