does speaker wire matter?

8 gauge is overkill.

You'll be fine with 12 guage.

Kind of on this subject but 12 guage wire has like 2 strands (+, -). Well is each strand 12 gauge or is it both together?

you can run single strands but it's messier and could be confusing with multiple speakers.

what im trying to say is that i will either use just plain old 8 gauge(cheapo) or kickers 12 gauge which is oxygen free and all that other good stuff. but will there actually be any difference what so ever?
