Does OHM freq change on how the sub sounds?

Negative. I replaced the it with the same thing. Only thing is, it is new. But like i said, it BUMPS but only with the MX on. I checked all my settings, everything is the same. I was thinking maybe the OHMS was the reason...but might be because its not broken in..

Personally I like runnign my subs in parallel although I know there isnt any difference between series or paralllel I jsut prefer one over the other. But however I might suggest looking into a new amp .

What impedance are the coils of the new Type R? You say they are the same thing...but then you say your old one was running @ 4ohms and your new one is running at 2ohms. They therefore, obviously, can not be the same thing. Either that, or you are confusing some terms or not properly understanding something (no offense, but sounds like this is the likely answer).

So, what impedance are the individual coils of your new Type R?

The subs impedance is 4ohms. The same as what my previous sub was. I had both -/+ terminals on the same side. Now with the new sub, I have the - on one side and the + on the other.
If both coils are 4ohm, and it sounds like you wired them in series rather than parallel........then you have it wired to 8ohm instead of 2ohm, which means the sub is only receiving half the amp's 4ohm output.

Which is only 100w, compared to the 350w that it would receive at 2ohms.

Shit. I know this prolly sounds idiotic but I slightly new to this. I Have two pairs of wires. I only used one pair to wire it. How do I fix this? How DO i get 2 true ohms

Thanks for the help

If your sub has dual 4ohm voice coils (both coils are 4ohms), the wire the subwoofer like this:

That may be even worse.....sounds like you maybe only used one coil //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Either way......Just wire it exactly as it is in the picture.

That is how i wired it. I think you mis read my post. Look.

The same as what my previous sub was. I had both -/+ terminals on the same side. Now with the new sub, I have the - on one side and the + on the other

nobody has actually answered the question of this thread...
Two subs, otherwise identical besides impedance of the coil (4ohm versus 2ohm for example), providing they still receive the same amount of power, no, coil impedance should not affect sound quality at all. Many companies offer the same model sub in various impedance configurations, same performance, same SQ, just different wiring options.
