does my amp work with my two 12s? i dont think so.. help plz

hey all new to this site..

ive just installed 2 12s i had laying around.. i have the sony xm-475gsx.

sony 800 watt amp specs

-75 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms

-100 watts x 4 at 2 ohms

-200 watts x 2 in bridged mode

-2-, 3-, or 4-channel output

the amp says 800 watts on it so i connected it to my 12" cvt kicker and my 12" pioneer blue sub.. the kicker is 400w rms 800 max, and the pioneer is 150w rms 800 max

so what im asking is.. i read that 200w x 2subs in bridged mode is only 200w to each sub? this will blow my sub i belive so i think i should get a bigger amplifier? 400watt(or up) x 2 in bridged mode.. just want to get this straight, dont want to blow my stuff up..

oh yeah and another problem with this new system is that someones the car seems like it has more power to the subs and amp sometimes... and some times less bass and amp power... this is realy odd i think maybe i need bigger cables? i have 8 gauge wires installed right now.. any chance that could be causing this problem?

maybe the cause, of the loss power and gain of power at random times is because the amplifier is powering 200 watts to each sub only.. do u guys think thats the problem? let me know what u all think thanks

problems might be your running two different subs off the one amp bridged, hence one side is trying to work harder than the other.......... prob wont work at all, just try the blue pioneer on that amp

reason why im asking all this is because i smelt something in my car burning... i was cleanin the battery because of corrision.. watered that down sprayed wd40 on it... not to long i drove it.. not sure if thats why it smelt..

wow quik replys i like this site alrdy! it seemed to work fine for a day.. but my main question is will my ampliefier blow my subs? or is this ok? should i get anothe cvt kicker or will i have to get someting 200watt or less rms ?

you may blow your amp depending on what ohm loads it is seeing

if ur running 2 different subs that handle different power and prolly different voice coils config. then both subs and amp are doomed
