Does Micheal Jordan deserve it??

No he was a great player but definalty not worth retiring his number league wide over. look at the 80's he was unable to win a title against bird, magic, or isaiah.

Let's see, he technically only played 6 full seasons in the 80's. Then he won the first championship in the 90-91 season. Magic was 31, Isiah was 29. The Pistons had been to the finals 3 straight years before getting dismantled by the Bulls that year. So it's not like they were some pushovers. After that, they rolled through some pretty good teams throughout the years. The league was much more physical at the time as well. I say Jordan did a pretty good job don't ya think?

Never said i didnt like jordan just dont think he was greatest of all time if anyting he was the nba's first celebrity.

If they retire Jordan's number, then they'd have to do the same for Magic + Bird also.

Magic + Bird brought the NBA back and then Jordan just took that and brought it to a different level.

Also, to clarify on the other post I made, I consider Jordan to be the greatest ever. With that said however, the greatest player is debatable. I feel he should, "at least", be mentioned in the same breath with the greatest players of any era all time.

yeah i think he deserves it..isnt wayne gretzky's number retired in the NHL???? correct me if im wrong,... but no other NBA player in the history of the league is more recognized or known around the world than jordan.

no matter how great you are, you cant win it alone!! magic, bird, isiah always had a team that was full of good players and role players. once jordan got that and a good coach, it was over for the nba. once he got a taste of a championship, the only time other teams ate was when he was retired. he led his team to the best record EVER!!! he is the best HANDS DOWN!!! Pippen is still my favorite player of all time!!
