does it really damage amps mounting them to boxes

so, if a box is secured to the trunk, mounting the amp elsewhere in the trunk will thus have less vibration? we should all then find a way to measure the level of vibration throughout our vehicles to find the area with the least vibration correct?

i ask because a coin pretty much bounces the same on the hood, roof, trunk lid, and floor of my car as it does the top of the box (well maybe not the hood)...

so by your calculations we should mount our amps to our hoods //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

properly braced boxes flex very little, and if this is the theory then we are talkin about bending amps, so it's not the vibration that damages them... not trying to be sarcastic, just want to understand, i sure dont want the solder on the inside components of my amplifiers failing, i'll lose the deebeez //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I called db-r the amp repair shop to find out about the used Sundowns, Anyway we

were just talking about what kinda repairs they make. He told me like 85-90% of the

repairs they make are dew to extreme vibrations, where the soldered joints on the

board just come lose and cause problems...

over how much time? and where then would one mount the amp inside the vehicle that would have less vibration?
