does it matter?

If I wrap wires around the screws that screw down on the battery or if I crimp the wire in the little metal ring thingies (you know...the thingies that come with the wiring kit that you stick the wire in and then screw down)? Does it make a diffrence? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

yes there is a problem with it, conductivity.

The purpose of the ring terminals is to reduce air between the metals that promote conductivity of electricity.

Wrapping the wire and pinching it will give you a connection, but not a very good one, plus it leaves it open to the elements allowing corrosion to form and air to resist.

Having the wire tightly crimped into a ring terminal and then tightly secured to a battery post reduces the amount of air that can resist, the boot protects the wire from corrosion, and the gold plating helps reduce resistance between the wire and the battery post.

so yes it does matter, it can be the difference between engine noise or no noise, an amp overheating or not, starting a fire or not, etc.

do it right use the ring terminals that came with.
ya, but sadly they never come with the right amount that fit the right gauges that they come with... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif so I had to just wrap a few around the screws...eh...turn on wire on a couple of amps and power wire on a small one (200w)....

also, I had to use y-splitter cables for RCA from amp a to amp b to amp c...does that reduce the power of each amp?
