Does it matter if I use home audio wires?

Hello guys,

First time posting here,

I'm building a system for my car and I made a dumb mistake and ordered some 12 gauge speaker wires that were intended for home audio/video use. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

It seems to be nice in quality, and it says it's made of "Oxygen Free Copper".

Unlike regular automotive speaker wires, it doesn't have that silver coating in the wires.

Does it matter if I use these for my car, in terms of sound quality or durability?

Any help would be much appreciated,

Thanks,

Dan

Wire is wire, it doesn't matter if it says Home or Car, it's all WIRE, it all provides a path for electrons to flow, and it doesnt know the difference between a car, a house, a pig, or a dog.

you know... i went to go do a system in a 85 Monte SS and the shop that got it before me used a 16ga speaker wire for a power lead on the HU. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

that shop did a SHIT *** job. anyways... back to the speaker wires...
