When I was in high school, I was pretty much the car audio expert at the school. My school was small with only 300 kids or so total, so theft was not a worry. Most everyone there had money anyhow.

Anyway I was more or less known to always have some of the loudest setups around school, so I never had a problem with explaining the benefits of cheap setups, because my installs did the talking. I ran eD, RE, and I had some Phoenix Golds too. I started with JL's, and moved up in value from there, so people took me seriously.

Just demo stuff if people don't believe you...my single 12" Q slams harder than 'most' dual 12" setups I've heard.

Everyone knows my 2 Orion XTRs "that looked like house speakers" with an Orion 1200d dont play games. They laughed when they seen the ugly subs/ugly box till they heard it and it jarred their head off. Im a junior btw.

As far as I could tell, I was the only person aware mids and highs could be amped, and would sound better doing it. My personal favorite is a coworker of mine and his little Cavalier. He demo'd it to me and another coworker one day. The other coworker goes "man, I wish i had my truck here, show you all how a real system sounds". The cavalier owner goes "i have more money invested". His system was so bad that I almost asked "where?". He distorted rap, which isn't exactly known for its dynamics. My friend and I just walked to my car, which at the time I only had two old Rockford tens plus the Diamonds running.

I don't have shit compared to people on here, but my car destroys both those clowns in sound.*am looking to sell the 12"s for a single badass 12 this summer*.

ok so im a sophmore in high school when people strt talking about systems i allways here stupid cheep brands. and if i mention dd aq cactus tc or treo they always look at me like im dumb. half the time i hear i will just stick to my duel or something stupid like that.and when they ask me what i have i reply aq hd315 and there just reply should of got some explods!! i hate it.

That's why I try to find people older/more experienced than me to hang around...you don't learn anything from being around idiots.

I usually tell people, especially at audio shops that I run Wal Mart stuff. Even had a guy at one shop looking at my RL-P's/Sundown set up and he said he never heard of it, I said just some Wal Mart junk.

I don't get in pissing contests with idiots, not much point. Someone's friend's uncle's cousin's brother's co-worker ALWAYS has something better anyway, so why bother....

Oh i loved it in when i was in high school. most of them had a pair of bottom line fosgate 10's or 12's with a 300 watt amp. and they would brag so much. Then one day i dropped some some cash and got 6 PPI C2 10's in a wall behind seats in a 89 CRX Si wih a PPI PC21400.2 amp. well lets just say they werent doing much bragging after that.

im in high school and i think i know a fair amount of car audio to tell to stupid *** kids at school that dont know jack about car audio..and the first thing they do is go straight to walmart and get some xplod speakers..that just makes me laugh.... alot of my friends have systems around where i live and there pretty good for self installed systems ...i say just put what you want in your car and show it off, then they will want to know more.....peace

lol i get this all the time... im runnin 1 arc flatline 12 and 2500xxk and most people will be like... dude that shit sucks ive never even heard of it n stuff... n im just like whatever... because ive sent people runnin butt hurt that had 2 15's in an explorer. anyways also they will look at my sub and there arent many flat cone subs out there so they'll look at mine and be like WTF that thing looks retarded but like people have mentioned... let the demo do the talking.

But i just let my system do the talking. Most have heard of my old subs(type Rs) but really noone had any clue how I got em as loud as I did and ended up getting me 4-5 installs from local people since they saw my work.

it pisses me off when ppl will tell me how loud their jl w3's and mofos sound,then they ask me what i have and i say mtx 9500 they always say stuff like jl is always better or my mofo can handle over 2000 wrms,or the ppl who think bcuz i only have 1 sub that it doesnt get loud,i never show it off tho bcuz a lot of stereo jackings go on around my block.

Very true. One of my best friends is really into hi-fi home theatre and he has taught me a ton in that respect. He's an experienced electrical engineer and really knows his way around amps as well.

None of my friends actually care much about car audio.
