does it exists?

Hi!

I want to buy some 5X7 or 6X8 component speakers and I was wandering if it is possible to buy a decent pair for about 125$? If so, what would you suggest? It will be powered buy an amp that can give 4X75W at 4 ohms.

I know I could buy other sizes, but I don't want to!

And a sub question! My amp is 5 channels, can I use the channel 1 to 4 for speakers at 4 ohms and the sub channel at 2 ohms? Here a link to my amp! TA5.1250 - Tarantula - Amplifiers - Car Audio

thanks e1

you are limiting yourself to the budget of cheap coaxial speakers. so don't worry about components, $125 components are junk. at least with a coax at that budget you don't have the added cost of a cheap crossover.

go with a set of four Kappa 5x7 and rock out. Infinity 6829CF

i have a set of four Eclipse 8971 which are 5x7 coaxial components. They sound great but are old school. I intend to use them in my father's Ford Ranger.

These are coaxial speakers not component,,,,, well.... I think.
Yeah they are. Relocated the tweets to the sail panel.

Hi! Sorry if I am sending this message twice I think I made a mistake but here it is.

My question is at what price point would you say that it is better to buy components speakers rather than coaxial? I bought a JL audio 10TW3 dual 4 ohms and I think it is a fairly good subwoofer so I don't want to put some front speakers that will sound not so good.

Because I think components speakers will give you better sound than coaxials but maybe im wrong. So is it more like 150$ or even 175$ and if so which ones would be a good choice?

At what point would you say ``Ok i'm getting those components because they will be better than those 125$ coaxials``. I forgot to mention that my amp is 4X75W at 4 ohms or 4X125 at 2 ohms.

Thanks again for your help!

it's really install dependent. in the kicks, good coax can work but i think good coax is >$200. you'll notice good coax put a LPF on the woofer.

the best budget components i've heard are the HAT Imagine series, but they don't have a crossover (just a cap on the tweeter) so costs were shaved in the basket and crossover but good quality speakers were used. from there, if i'm on that tight of a budget i won't buy anything new. $500 is about my low end for wanting new components. used, you can get a $500 set of components for $100.
