Does home depot cut mdf to size?

some do, some say absolutley not. I take in cut sheets. Helps if you go early in the afternoon during the week when they are not so busy. Forget the weekends, around here anyways.. And the cuts arent all straight either. They can vary by up to 1/4" which can get annoying when assembling a box.

I work at lowe's. nothing pisses us off more than when people come in and want us to cut their whole project. i can understand taking one foot off a board, or cutting one in half so it can fit in their vehicle. but if you go in there with a list of cuts and they "have to be exact!!!" they're gonna get pissed and rush through it so they can help other customers that actually need assistance. i've wanted to tell customers that "we sell saws too..."

i love the idea of a tip, if someone slipped me $10 i'd def. take my time and do it right.

The only reason you even have a job there slipshot, are those customers that piss you off. Quit being a lazy *** and be thankful you have a job. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i just wish that people would learn the meaning of DIY

They cut it, usually for free. One guy was like you know its $0.25 per cut, and I was like thats fine. then he didn't mention anything when he was done. Cuts were perfect just keep track of what cuts he's doing. Throw the man some money if you're satisfied, he is in all reality saving you time and money.

the one by my house does.... they're supposed to charge after a certain number of cuts but most of the people are too retarded to ring it up. keep an eye on what they're doing though especially if they are young

Maybe they just don't have the right tools to do it at home. Ever try using a Skilsaw or jigsaw for making long stright cuts? It's pretty useless. Unless you have either a tablesaw or panel saw, making a straight cut sucks.

Americans (and I am one) ***** about all the tech service going overseas to India and Korea. Again, be thankful you're employed.

You make the same amount of money whether you're cutting MDF or tracking down plumbing fittings. It's all about the attitude.

some stores are not cutting MDF anymore due to the fact that the dust is a carcenagentic (cs)

coparate has a no mdf policy, but some will still cut it for you. Also, those saws are seldom true, so the cuts sometimes out of square. If i must have any wood cut there, its just to get it into a car, like that lowe guy said. Then do the finish cuts myself.
