Does Fi Audio use VC plugs in their woofers?

I was looking at a thread on here, and seen someone fix a vc plug and dustcap, saying it was causing noise beneath the dustcap. I'm having similar symptoms with my sub, sounds like something beneath it is loose, and makes a popping sound. Low frequencies really make it move and make noise, and higher frequencies it almost seems to dissipate. If anyone could help me, I would appreciate it, I don't think this is good for the sub.

It's a cap that covers the voice coil beneath the dustcap. The thread is on here, someone did it on an SI Mag I beleive, and put a new anodized one in place of the old one.

Been away for CES with no internet access...my apologies.

We don't use coil caps on anything...

The only thing that causes what you are talking about is playing under tuning with no subsonic filter and yanking the soft parts off of the coil.

my first FI Q had a terrible bottoming out/tinsel slap sounding noise. Sent it back and they sent me one they no longer made this noise

like you said the noise I experienced was very noticeable on lower notes and not so much and higher ones
