Does Boston Acoustics make quality amps?

Boston makes very soild equipment, you shouldn't have any problems with any of their products....one of the few old school companies out there that's still kicking strong and making very good products....

Great, thank you! Would you take one over the AQ750??

My understanding about Boston Acoustics product lines is:

GT Line: overbuilt Class A/B amplifiers. Very good reviews. Could be a bit pricey.

GTA: The Boston Acoustics budget line of amplifiers that's affordable enough to compete with MB Quart and the like, but still has some features from the GT series (e.g. the Q-tune).

I am personally on the fence right now about buying a GTA-mono block vs a 4-channel PPI Phantom. If I knew for sure that I don't need rear fill, I'd go with the GTA mono block for sure based on nice reviews. However, I am still deciding whether down the road I could have some use for rear speakers with proper processing, etc (hence, the need for two more channels to amplify)

I've personally never used any of the AQ products but I've seen them in action and they seem to be some pretty good stuff for the price, I have used the Boston product lines through out the years and have never had a single issue or complaint with anything of theirs that I've owned or installed so honestly I think you'd be just fine no matter which route you chose......

good question, i've been looking at these amps too. need something for my mb quart pwe354, either the 800 or 1000 watt version.
The GTA-800m, the 800watt version, had been discotinued a year ago and replaced with the 1000watt GTA-1000m. I was actually curious about whether I could pick the GTA-800m somewhere for a lower price since it was discontinued. Strangely, the online prices of GTA-800m are pretty much the same as GTA-1000m.

I'll sell one of my Boston gt28

I've been running a GTA-1000m for about 6 months or so. Excellent amp. Clean, small, looks cool, stays cool, and makes rated power. I have the GTA-704 too, but I haven't installed it yet.
