does bestbuy do upgrades??

hell when my parents bought me a jensen hu a few years back, they had the replacement plan on it. it crapped out 6 months after they bought it. bb didn't carry it anymore so they upgraded to a jvc unit that was more than what the jensen cost. at no charge. free upgrade.
That's with the replacement plan. You pay extra for it, also they have the right to send it off to THEIR repair center, and THEN if it can't be repaired there it will be replaced. Sometimes you get a better unit, sometimes they just give you your money back on a gift card to purchase one of your choice.

okay heres what you do. or what i did at least at my local bb. got a alpine 9851 for my bday, had the recepit and warranty plan, it was enough total to exchange for my 9853, so i yanked the 9851 out, brought it back to a smokin hot blonde at the service desk, told her it wouldnt spit out my cd, she took my warranty plan and handed me a giftcard with 390.00 on it. bingo. a 9853 for 350 and some dvds, BB---->I WIN
haha sounds like a good deal, how much is the warranty plan?

The best buys around akron are easy as long as you have the warranty, they just say "do you want a direct replacement, or do you want to look around."

Blew my $160 kenwoods with my lanzar opti2000.d, and upgraded to those rockford 6.5" components when they first got them. Bad trade, those rockfords ****.

Wish they would've started carrying alpine when they still made the metal-cone type-r components so i could've upgraded again, not a fan of the new r's

the only way they would do an upgrade is if you had a HU that broke under warranty, took it back, and that HU was no longer made...then they would give you the upgrade with probably the price diff. same with subs/speakers.

I bought a temporary head unit from them in a jam for a show, after the show I realized that the head unit had a factory defect with the RCA ouput stage, where it introduced noise every time you added to the volume increment....But best buy wouldnt honor their part of the warranty, offered to send the head unit off to sony - like i'll ever see it again when it gets to sony (sony is notorious for loosing equipment forever and never owning up to it afterwards)...so that idea was out. I then proceded to yell at the district manager till the cops arrived, but still did no good for them to honor any warranty. Filled out all the appropriate BBB paperword and filed with them, and of course Best Buy denied doing anything wrong and again offered to ship the head unit to sony.

Best Buy = worthless.
