Does anyone work in auto insurance or at a body shop?

woah they called that totaled?

Its been at the shop since Monday morning. The shop said they dont even want to do an estimate, since they are sure it is totaled. Then today, they told me it was "borderline total", which is why they have to get State Farm out to look at it.

So, more or less, the shop is saying it is, for the scratches and the flat tires.

Doesnt seem right to me, the engine is great, it doesnt have 250,000 miles or anything. Right around 103,000.......Not low, but not excessively high.

someone broke into my garage, keyed the shit out of my truck, stole my new deck, ipod, other stuff
i hope your filing with statefarm home owners insurance and not auto. When my friends car was broken in to parked in the driveway he got back more than he lost, they replaced everything, even a few items that weren't in the car, just be sure to provide receipts for everything.

btw... when they come out to look at the car act suprise and realise your missing a few extra items you over looked previously

Both auto and renters insurance. The damage to the car goes on the auto, the stolen stuff from the car and garage on the renters, because it wasnt installed. So, two deductibles is gonna ****.

At this point, Im mainly concerned with getting my truck back. The other shit can come later.

I dont think Im going to lie to the insurance company....insurance fraud FTL.

I just did a little estimate just from what I could tell by the pics. Not 100% accurate though, Id need to look at it. Ans also the cost per hour may be different where you live. Anyways................. Scratches repaired (litte dings=no cost) fully painted.

$2140.00

and that incudes all material. And just a basic paint job, nothin' custom

Thanks man......

So do you have a good deal of experience with this type of thing? Would you say that the damage (scratches, flat tires, one busted taillight, taillight guard) would make the car totaled?

2140??? dammm im glad my uncle owns his own body shop and only charges me for the paint

2 tone, soild black base, midnight blue with a hint of pearl and metallic flakes including be painted for $650... FTmfW

Pics?

Youd be amazed at what shops charge- when I wrecked the truck on the highway, total estimate was $3300.

I replaced all the parts (rear bumper, bumper ends, taillights) for $295. After paying the deductible and tow bill, I came out roughly $2500 ahead on that one......hoping for a similiar outcome on this one, but we will see.

hell, thats cheaper than 5500.....besides, all of that^ for me=free:naughty: , well besides the paint. Ya my grandpa ownes a bodyshop and Ive been around it all my life, took autobody in vocational school, worked at another body shop after all that, and work at a plastic bumper repair shop now fixind damaged oem bumper covers back to new again:D , so if anyone needs any kind of custom plastic welding, done, hit me up.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif But ya, I dont see how you blazer is totaled, in any way.

Cool.....just hope state farm agrees with you.

Its gonna **** getting it to a tire shop- Im gonna try fix a flat and see if it works, otherwise Ill have to get it towed.

Flatbed towing prices are not cool.

Estimate was $4088.00

State Farm is running the numbers, to see if it needs to be totalted. Anyone know what percentage of value they use?

usualy 2/3 of the value in repairs totals out a car...

U might be better off with it totaled though seeing as the car is still driveable //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

Say they give ya 4000, to buy a totaled car back is like 10%(give or take) of its initial value.. Fix the tires for like 300, and throw the rest on paying it off. And just drive around with it like that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
