Does anyone here think Type R's sound good?

Alpine is crap.
Alpine's headunits, the nicer ones are fantastic. Their Type X line all around is good. The REF components are the best sounding components you can get for the price. The PRO components for $300-$350 will outperform anything in that price range. The Type X sub is known for having great sound quality and annihilating the lows.

If you look at all of their other lines, it's all good products for the price. Now if you want to compare Alpine's top, the F#1 Status, that is arguably the best car audio equipment ever made.

No one can really hate on Alpine.

I had my set in a ported box under powered my half and they hit the lows real nice (tuned to 32hz)

I now have then in sealed box with max power and they still sound good, some tones are off but all in all they sound good.

hit a 139 with the sealed set up.

I guess its all in what YOU think sounds GOOD. I LOVED MY p3'S and they got plenty loud with excellent quality on rap and heavy metal kick drums. Ive thought about trying a type R but too many people say they sound like butt. But, thats what they say about the p3s also, so I guess you never really know till you try them in your own car. Im also tempted by the cvr's but i have never heard a cvr sound good to me. So to OP , I guess just buy one type R and let us know your experience with it. good luck.
or go to a sound shop.
