Does anyone here have a huge system but absolutely not listen to rap or r&b?

Not that I am trying to dog anyone or anything, but for the majority, most people who listen to only rap are not capable of putting together a huge setup. Not everyone though, most people with systems are the teens that just got their drivers liscence. I mean I listen to rap quite often, but I listen to way more rock than anything but, I am from Nashville, so I got country boy running through my veins. So i guess you could say I listen to everything. I just feel that people get systems are majority rap listeners, maybe not on here because we are the elite and have knowlege of the game //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif but for the majority of people out there thats the case.

For shits and giggles, I was hittin pretty hard off of Faith Hill's "This Kiss" a couple days ago. I was listening to Jerry House on the radio the other morning and I was stunned at how hard it hit.

Lots of other music besides rap hits hard.

Judging by what I've seen on here...ehhh...there are some that throw some serious money into their setup and not give a **** whether or not it sounds like ***.

Maybe I'm weird, I prefer John Williams over Lil' Jon for demo material //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Meh...I demo various things depending on what the people im demoing too. Right now my frontstage is lacking, The type R comps sound like ***, the tweeters are too harsh, and they lack midbass. Pretty soon Im going to upgrade to the Boston Pro. 60s...Then I will have some components that scream...Just wait Jim, 2007 is my SPL year, 2008 is a wholenother story.

1 15'' and a 1200d isn't really a huge system IMO, but props on the amp, I have one and love it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

Here's a pretty good sized system, and this guy is a metal head. Only rap that played on it was some I put in there to see what it sounded like.. and it was loud.

with ya on that one... natural instruments recorded in a sound studio setting... besides, everyone can relate to movie soundtracks...

any favorites?

I have nothing against rap or r&b, but I don't like it and won't listen to it. With that being said, i have a 15" Fi Q and an orion 1200d on the way. I listen to a lot of stuff, mainly rock and alternative, but i am beginning to question how overkill this really is (not that it will cause me to reconsider or anything like that. I think car audio setups are just too cool).
edit: and it appears that my title does not make a whole lot of grammatical sense...lol
I have an 18" MT and an IA 20.1 and wont listen to music at all with it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif not for daily driving. I like rap but I seem to mostly listen to rock in my car. I guess because the radioshow I listen to in the morning is a classic rock station and the next button over is a new rock station, and the "hip hop" stations around here play more pop bullshit than anything.

I listen to just about everything. Hip hop, some rap, rock, metal, R&B, classic rock, and have a strange appreciation for jazz. Currently using 1 15 and 1000 watts or so. Soon to be more cone area up front than in back:naughty:

Well I seem to be opposite of nearly everyone else that has posted. I listen to rap all the time. It's the only thing I like. I just don't like rock or pop or country. That doesn't mean I have a bandpass box with Xplodes because of it. I have a very good sub stage, and will be working on my frontstage because it sucks. Some people think that rap and sq are oximorons, but thats not true. I like my system to get loud on what I like, but to me, it has to sound good, or else I wont have it. Rap has some very good high SQ to it, as well as some nice sounding bass. To me, I like the songs with the low end bass, 35hz and below.
