Does a double baffle for flushmount add strength?

When you mount the sub onto the inside baffle and then add a second layer to flush the sub does that add strength, or would you have to double the area where the sub is attached to see any real benefits?

Yes, it adds strength...

But the best way to stiffen a sub box is by bracing the middle of the panels.

The double baffle will reduce flexing of the panel as a whole.
