Dodge Viper speaker solutions

My trainer drives a 95' dodge viper (not positive on the year) and he has a blown 6.5" speaker in the middle of his two seats. The speaker does not say what kind of ohms its running at, but I am assuming 4. The deck is decent, but what kind of speaker should I replace it with? its only one, so it kinda sucks sice I have to buy a pair. The speaker says max 100 watts...im thinking a kicker 6.5"midbass driver would do, but let me know please.

so he has 1 6.5 in the middle that is blown..ok

does he have door speakers as well?...most likely, but thought i'd ask...

if he lacks midbass then get the midbass driver in there, with some kind of f-mod to regulate what frequencies it gets....

if not then just get a decent 2 or 3 way speaker

Check out http://www.partsexpress.com and http://www.speakercity.com for Peerless, Vifa, Seas and Scanspeak drivers. They can be bought in singles (you don't need to buy a pair) and can be bought in 4ohm. Plus they offer great performance at a great price.

Though, you may want to consult Dodge or someone to verify the impedence of the driver and frequency range that it plays. Because, if there is some sort of passive crossover network, the impedence of the speaker will make a HUGE difference. Plus you'll need to make sure that the speaker can cleanly play as high (and low) as you'll need.
