Hello,

Today looking at realmofexcursion I saw some sub boxes without terminal cups, just thick cables going inside the box...

I don't know if exist a good brand or category of terminals cups, because I've seen a lot of boxes with noise in the cup, So what's better... For you ?

Don't look at my english, Please

It just comes down to preference really. And if you run a large gauge speaker wire, many terminal cups wont accept it.

We use these:

The terminal measures 4.7" by 1.9" at the mounting plate.

They accept 2 awg and are freakin massive. They have zero noise around the posts. If it has noise around the edges, it's because the user didn't seal it up properly.

also...most people are cheap....drilling a hole is free...buying a terminal cup costs a few bucks..lol.
But there is no air escape through the hole, I think even adding silicon to the hole it can be risky, or no ?

I'm a beginner on this, I only have a Infinity 1050W but on the next month will change al my system due to a new car, so I want to be sure

im just so lazy i run the wire through the port hole.
lol excellent idea

But... Maybe is an exaggerated question, but anyway I will ask.

Do the cable through the port give you some vibration noise ? Cuz I don't know.

I use 3/8" allthread. It allows you to use whatever size wire you like. Also you can change impedence easily by having one terminal per coil. I think I drill a 5/16" hole and just screw the allthread right into it, no leak and you can still caulk/fiberglass around it.

For a fiberglass box I use those :http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=091-1152

For MDF box I use those :

I used the terminal that mledez posted and I liked them but little expensive. Using a terminal cup is stupid, your a building a box with 3/4" MDF and you use a 1/16" plastic cup in an area..... In some application I won't be surprised that the cup completly bend and crack.
Waoh... Thanks a lot for this one...

I didn't know it exists...

I use a hole... then i run the necessary amount of wire inside the box... then I wrap electrical tape around the wire to where it is almost to thick and tug it back thru... probably not the best way to seal it up, but it effective and fast.

I Difinitively will consider the DjWeeDY suggestion and the simple choice of poundindak69... Thanks a lot
