I personally think they are a bunch of shiesters. Reason I ask is because I was plannig on buying some Infinity Reference 6.5's componants. from Ike and decided to check Crutchfield and see if they say they would fit or not. They say they don't but that the Kappa 6.5's comp would. I am thinkn well of course they would tell you that the Kappa's would fit becuase they cost twice as much(from them that is). I am thinking there can't be that much difference in size or screw holes, depth or whatever.

Has anybody bought anything that Crutchfield said would not fit when indeed it did with little or no modifications needed?

Thanks

cruthfield is a bunch of bullshit communists IMO. they say that for my car i have 6 1/2" in my doors, which i don't, they're 6", and that there's 6x9's in the rear, which i don't, they're 5x7's. i've told them many times and they do jack shit about it. and their prices are outrageous.

i asked them once about my car (2003 e-class) they Couldnt help me out they said its new and they dont know if anything fits or not and also i cant add a direct cd changer to my headunit because my car`s changer cables r fiberoptic , but when i checked other sites i found the wires and cables for my car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

they have good customer service + magazine but their prices are VERY high .

they are kind of like best buy, the only thing i would ever consider buying from them is a head unit....but those are usually pretty pricey so probably not even that.

as long as your not buying HU/speakers/subs, crutchfield is awsome. They have basically everything and their customer service is great. There site is very, very organized. I have not had any problems with being mis-informed yet, but my experiences have been great with them...

I too would not order from them either. I mean whats the point when you could most likely get the same products for the same prices maybe cheaper at your local best buy or circuit city. Not that I buy from there either just making a point.

Now this is jacked up. But I just noticed on http://www.thezeb.com on their Infinity products page there is a link link to the official Infinity webpage for to see what speakers fit your vehicle. Infinity says they have speakers that will fit that Crutchfield says won't. Sheesh!

I think I will just go with what Infinity says...

yeah, they sed my 5x7's that i bought from them would not fit and i had to acknowledge that if i bought them from them it would be a "custom" install. But when i got them...they fit fukkin fine...they sometimes refer to them as "not fitting" if everything won't fit. The grilles that came with the speaker's wouldn't fit! who gives a shit, b/c the speaker locations in my car already have grilles over them! they do have GREAT customer service...if u don't like something(it doesn't matter y) u can send it back to them w/in 30days and get a full refund. i did it one time when i didn't have an amp and couldn't decide what to get. got an amp from them...USX4085, used it for a month(bridged 2x240rms) for my subs and then sent it back to them and got my money back. NO questions asked...they took it back and even paid return shipping. The prob is they usually sell retail...only sales they have is factory authorized discounts and stuff they get from they actual company, so their prices are high compared to internet. but their service is great. I don't buy from them nemore...use their site, and magazine for info though!!! peace

Welp after several days of debating, brain racking and a email from Infinity Tech support that the speakers WILL fit in my truck doors. I decided to trust Infinity and go ahead and order the speakers. However if they don't fit I am comfortable enough in my handiness that I can make them do so. Anyway thanks for all the comments and I'll let you know how the install goes.

They're a pretty good source of home audio equipment and a reasonable source of odds n' ends cables and such that you might not be able to find locally. Other than that, I too just use their site for the "large" versions of product photos. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

thatsa enough crutchfield bashing. i bought a 900 dollar headunit from them for 500 bucks. cant beat that deal. they gave me all the wiring and accesories for free. they do have high prices yes, but theyhave the best customer service in the car audio industry. if you can find what you need on sale from them, youll be very happy.
