do you lose gas mileage in winter?

Also, if you start DRIVING ur car after it has cooled down (cold engine start) - the car has to dump alot more gas into it than if it was already closer to operating temperature.
I see alot of people do this, they just start their car in the morning, everythings cold - and they just speed off, white exhaust flaring and all. Its funny because those are the people who end up paying more down the road in gas AND possible engine repair.

I recommend everyone lets their cars get to operating temperature before driving in the winter. :]
I used to do that, but not accelerate fast, just turn on the car and go. Now I wait about 30 seconds and take off. Newer cars actually don't require you to warm up the car all that much. As long as you don't drive like an *** and go easy on the pedal (with newer cars) you don't need to warm it up for minutes like with older ones.

After the post about cold starts I feel bad now.

I just start that ***** and take the **** off.

Idling is a waste of gas to me.

I got shitty mileage on my last tank.

Averaged 19 in the Fall area.

Now it's 16.

I did Use 4WD, excessive idling, and a shit load of excessive revving to get the tires spinning for the hell of it.

yea i used to get like 20-21mpg doing 60 with ac off during summer now i get like 18-19 with ac off doing 60. In the summer i get better gas mileage at night when the air is cooler

also i dont know if it was mentioned, but the fact of tires slipping and you goign no where, but it still uses gas... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
