I work for a bodyshop. I love my job, pay is good to be in my area and my age. Also build custom cars at night and on the weekends.

I am an API 510/570 inspector.I went to trade school for NDT in 2002 (year long course).

Starting pay is $18-20 per hour, and the $30 per hour range can be had in six months to a year, depending on how fast you catch on.

You can opt to take the 510/ 570 exam for $500 after 3 years experience and pay rates for a green 510 /570 are around $44 per hour.

Some guys I know with 5 years as API inspector are clearing $5000 a week.

Edit..The api rate has gone up approximately 60% over the past 3 years and is still rising...Now's an excellent tine to get in

I like my job. I make a flat $250/week plus commission on how many cars I find. Pretty good for me, since I really have no bills, just car insurance and cell phone.

I'm a bartender at olive garden. It doesn't really pay all that well, right now anyways because business is real bad right now but the work is fun. The people I work with are great too. Great team work, enjoyable work environment and great benefits. They say when business actually picks up the pay will be decent. Right now I'm only bringing home like 280-300 a week. They say when it picks back up(the lead bartender) was brigning home 2k a month pretty easily. Not bad for the kind of work we do.

I'm hoping that if I stay here for a while I can move to the downtown area and make some real money on the weekends.

I like my job. I just count for a living. Yes and no. I'm part time so pay is barely enough to make car payments, insurance, gas, cell phone bill, and some credit card bills. Pay rate itself is pretty good. And lately I keep dealing with some ******** that makes 6 figures who makes a meeting with me and doesnt show up even after I wait an addition 45 mins for him....twice. Once I'm full time, I'm set..but the budget situation (I work for the local government) is so horrible that it's difficult to convert to FT.

I used to deliver furniture for a major home furnishing company. Due to the drastic change in the economy, I was forced to leave. But, I really like my new job I have. I drive for a local medical company. Over the road if you will. 3 runs a week, great pay, I don't have to deal with anyone but myself, and I get weekends and all holidays off.

I inspect piping and pressure vessels in refineries, pipelines, chemical plants.We do visual inspection, basically, and coordinate testing of welds, corrosion, and internal erosion/ corrosion
