Do you like your job/career?

I dont like or hate my job. I guess kinda in the middle thing. I am gonna have to **** it up and probably head out to kraftmaid cabientry to get a decent job. Starting pay there is 12 bucks, plus they have excellent benefits and incentives. I make 10.50 an hour right now, but I am a loss assest protection manager and it is so easy a monkey could do it. Its just my back is so screwed! I actually need surgery on it, but refuse to become a handicapper For life at such a young age. Well young to me, lol! I have a little one on the way though, so need to do something else. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
That sucks bro... bout the back at least. Grats on a baby. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/partytime.gif.c93957d22b3fb208098e423485fd0404.gif

And hoss, whatcha do?

I honestly hate my job at times, but can justify doing it for the pay, I go to school part time studying business and work 4 days a week, basically I'm a salesman at the car wash, I make 8.50 an hour and get about $800 a month in bonus, just to talk people and get them to buy overly priced car washes, I can't complain much since I make about $17 an hour with my bonus included, not a bad gig while going to school I guess.

I can hate my jobs at times... but I guess I can love it at other times too. The pay is shit, period, unfortunately I would feel too guilty to take a tip to let somebody ride go karts or something. Yet days where I go play games on the clock or flirt with all the girls are fun... yet I still dont think thats worth getting treated like shit for the rest of the days.

i'm about to start looking for internships for an electrical engineer.
>$145,000 starting salary per year //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

that's with my master's degree. there potentially alot more money, if I decide to stick with it and get my MBA as well.
Hate to be a jerk, but how in the world do you truly expect to be making $145k + starting off?... The national average for an EE is about $55k. Even with a master's that is only averaged at getting you an additional $10-15k, if that. MBA's (I'm thinking about getting mine as well instead of master's in Engineering) can raise your salary UP TO 26%.

55,000*1.26=69,300 without a technical master's, & 70,000*1.25=$88,200 with a technical master's.

Best case scenario, $88,200-145,000=-$56,800. You're nearly $60,000 off from what you likely will be making after an additional 2 years of graduate school, and another 2 for your MBA.

You'd have to have an entry salary of ~ $115k to take advantage of the 26% increase an MBA can give you.

All this, and you're only about to start an internship???

Tell me where you plan to work, cause I'm moving there!

I'm a buggy gitter at Wal-Mart //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif ....They tell me with hard work and dedication that I might become a greeter someday...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I don't know if i have an official job title, but I really like my job.

I build prototypes (consumer electronics industry) which means lots of dremeling, melting, cutting, etc. All hands on work. I also do the electronics inside, I'm not an electrical engineer so I don't do PCB layout but I have to run wires, replace components and populate PCBS as well as figure out how to accomplish something that looks retail. So a lot of my work is to create some "effect" for a product. I help out at a lot of tradeshows, like CES.

I also do a lot of small work around the office, like installing servers or installing/phasing out new equipment. I like what I do, every day is something new. Many times my bosses will come up and just ask about some topic and then my job is to become a self proclaimed min-expert in that particular topic, like LVDS or TFT panels or a particular microchip etc. I get paid $15 an hour, and have a very flexible schedule.

I like certain aspects of my job/jobs. I like my tiling company because its somewhat freeing for me and i can pull in 5k a week. But i like the club because i can pull in decent money and have plenty of time to persue other things. To me time is worth more than anything. I am going back to my construction roots to have more money for investments.

I did sales for a while, hated it. Now im jobless //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Seriously, shut the fuck up. Anyone who has done the math knows that you would have to be getting the income from a seperate source. While we're able to admit where we've earned our funds from. You're obviously ashamed. I understand that you have old money rotting from under you, however that does not excuse your bragging and and shameless laundering of such money (you claim all assets are from walmart and/or a minimum wage job).

I have a real job, earning real money. You.. however wish you had earned real money. You're simply another shrinkidincks. Living off someone elses money. We dont blame you for being pathetic. We simply wish you would quit shaming our forums and gain a real social life and/or career path.

I wish you the best of luck

You pathetic piece of shit.

Whats wrong with working at wal-mart? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

Just because its a job you may not want to do doesn't mean it doesn't need to get done. I've done my share of buggy-getting at the grocery store when I was younger!
