Do you have to LP comps?

I understand the importance of HP component drivers and tweeters to protect them from the low frecs.

But.. how important is to LP or bandpass midrange drivers?

I'm going to try an active 3 way setup and I'm not sure if my xover (MTX LSX2) allows "bandpassing" the mids.

I'm a bit worried about the mid-low drivers (6.5) playing too high and distorting the stage if they are not bandpassed.

it would effect the power handleing of the mid range (usefull output) as some roll off better than others

Coaxials don't LP the mids and that's why they ****. Highly recommended.

Really depends. Some speakers have steep enough high frequency roll-off that when "used" in conjunction with your cars acoustics, a HPF isn't necessary.

However, a large majority of the time a LP on the mid WILL be needed.
