Do you currently have an amp at CIA Engineering?

I sent CIA a gx4000d (approx 11/07). For about the first 2 weeks their customer service was pretty good. The lady that answered the phone was very nice and always re-assured me that they take pride in their repairs and bla, bla, bla. Then the bullish began. I was calling, at one point, a couple times a day, and never got a answer. On the rare occasion when someone would answer the phone, I would get some crap about they were waiting on driver cards from Maxxsonics for the amp. After about 4 months of waiting I called Maxxsonics and explained my situation. They customer service lady pretty much told me that since I purchased the amp used, I'm pretty much on my own. I explained to her what CIA told me about waiting on driver cards, and she told me that they may be true. My next question to her was, does Maxxsonics think their amps are bullet-proof on what? Why would a major company like Maxxsonics build a amplifier that they cannot supply their authorized repair centers parts for? She couldn't give me an answer to my question. I continued my daily routine with calling CIA, and they answered the phone this time I got the same story about waiting on parts. He then offered to sell me a used xxv cyclops for $650.00, but I couldn't tell Maxxsonics about the transaction. What kind of shady stuff do they have going on over there??? To make a long story short, I'm still waiting to this day for my amp. I've obviously given up on getting it back. They probably sold it to someone else. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER MAXXSONICS PRODUCT OR USE CIA ENGINEERING FOR ANY OF MY REPAIRS. THEY BOTH FULL OF ISH!!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif

CIA had two of my brother's Hifonics amps (Brutus bx2005 and a 5ch Zeus) for over a year. They kept giving him the run around about waiting on parts. When he got them back they were still broken. Rather than deal with them anymore he sold them for pennies on Ebay as-is in not-working condition. I will never purchase another Maxxsonics product because of that experience. The Maxxsonics guys are cool but if you ever have to get an amp warrantied through CIA you're just SOL.

This is also why I preach so much about going with a company who has great customer service and won't give you any bs with warranty work. A good warranty is one of those things that you don't realize how important it is until you need it. You wouldn't drive a nice car without full coverage insurance so don't buy a nice amp without a good warranty to go with it.

I called Maxxsonics and told them after hearing all the horror stories about CIA engineering and the fact that most amps come back still broke or break within the first few hours that i didnt want my amp back, I wanted a refund or a replacement amp. After about 30 minutes she decided to send me an XXV-colossus. It should be here today //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif It isnt quite as powerfull as the MM4000 but then again i didnt need it really, this amp will do the job. Better then waiting another 5 months //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
they now have 2 other authorized repair centers. I always just send my customers products straight to Maxxsonics and have a new replacement in 10 days or less. and the Collusus will crush the mm4000 trust me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif you got a smoking deal.

Well if it makes you feel better... I bought an amp off an eBay store and it is DOA. It turns on, just doesn't have any output power... and I am SOL because they won't work on it unless I bought it from a certified dealer... WAHOO!!! $140 gone //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
I keep preaching about buying authorized so sorry if I don't feel bad for you being cheap.

X's 8734658713645807134 buy authorized from a dealer ( like me) and the dealer will do the warranty with an exchange rma for the cost of shipping only.

Well I guess this means I need to stay on CIA *** then. I bought a refurb amp from maxxsonics that halfway worked and they said they couldnt exchange it because it was the last one they had. I wish I would of known this before I sent that amp in. I pray they actually fix it and send it back to me because thats the only working amp I had right now. Im soundless in my car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Well I got my amp back today....not bad only 3 weeks that they had it!!!! But it came back missing a screw terminal and nothing fixed....oh well...at least maxxsonics is gonna exchange it with another one they just received in. Hopefully this one works....

Amp is suppose to be moving through UPS right now they said. I talked to them earlier today and they said they were going to ship it out today so it should be here tomorrow since where its located is 45 mins from where I live....
