i have an alpine 9884 headunit, kicker 12 inch cvr 800watts, and 1000 watt quantum audio monoblock amp. for some reason, the subs dont hit as hard as they should. they pound on the low bass but i can barely hear the high bass. please help. thanks

Funky is right, if it were a wire issue, you would not get ANY bass. This could be one of many things as cshaw said above. If you post up some specs or pics of your setup, we could help you more.

Possibly LPF set too low? Could be the enclosure or you are expecting too much out of it. And when you say higher frequencies, what frequencies are we speaking of? I hope you are reffering to somewhere around the 60 - 80 Hz range. Maybe you're lacking midbass and not subbass?
