Do people on CA not like Critical Mass? Why?

I don't see the buzz around the C-mass name like there is for the other fourm boners. why? I ahve been in this game from the begining ('80's) and they have sence as far as I can remember been the cream of the crop. Expensive yes, but somthing to aspire to also. And they have been on the fourm for ver reasonable prices and nobody seems to gravitate towards them. Why?

Because most people on this forum are broke *** college students that can't afford 2,000 clams for a fookin woofer.

$2,000 for a subwoofer. Just saying that out loud shocks me. The only single piece of audio equipment I would pay over $900 for is a Zapco 9.0.....

Shitting me. I love other parts of my car way to much. Why pay $2000 when you can pay $500 for the same performance and quality in a subwoofer. The UL12's only major selling point for me would be the weight, as it is *** ugly. If I had so much money I didn't know what to do with it, I don't think I would spend that kinda money. 2 UL 12's on 2 9.0's would be hot shit though. If they lowered the price to $450-500 a sub, I bet there would be more of a "boner" for them.

$6,000 for custom made wheels and Pzero tires + $2,000 for subs and amps + the $1000 or so its going to finish my heads/cam and nitrous > $9,000 retail in subs and amps. (I already have IDQ 8's and Horns, and Zapco/ARC amps and a 8053 and all my wiring, 275 amp ohio generator and batts.)

So we have. A 95 SS slammed on Asanti 22's 22x11's in the back 22x9's in the front. 5inch lip in the rear, powdercoated black center, a used 9.0 (or 40.1, SAZ3000d) on 2 or 3 12in SQ subs, making 350rwhp plus a 175hp shot. Straight cammin sounding nasty. System's front stage sounding **** good, subs sounding good.

Or

My car as it sits now on all black 17 stockers, still slammed, no finished motor work, but shiney UL 12's and 2 9.0's wanging in the rear deck. Sounding **** good, singing in harmony with my front stage.

Priorities man.

I thought about UL12's at one time just to be different. Then I slapped my self. - There was one for sale for around $500, that I looked at, but it sold.

My car has way to many other things going for it to worry about compensating in stereo equipment that would cost half as much as the ****ing car.

spot on.

I have had 2 of them and haven't paid over 800 for either. and I would like to know hwat subs are better in everones opinion, forget money.
Thats a luxury not a lot of people have. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

yes I know but, I put the 99z up and got a bunch of response, even from guys that know they are not going to buy it, they are just looking and comment. The 99z sells for much more than the ul12, and there are other options with Cmass other than the ultra expensive

I hear ya and have no problem with C-mass. From the looks of it they make very nice stuff but like I said I havent ever heard any of it and I have a real hard time dropping 800 on something I havent heard.

DD is a boner that at least some people have experience with and the z is like the holy grail to a lot of people. I like to look at them as well but again wouldnt drop that kind of coin on one.

I can understand you point, basically $800 is out of the range of what you figure any sub is worth. but what about the ss line and the comps, guys pay 750-1500 all day on morel, dyna, rainbow ... but you never hear c-mass, is it again a situation of not being able to hear them, because I purchased my Rainbow Profi, vans without hearing them, (which worked out fine thankfully) but it dosent seem to apply to cmass

I think they're not spoken about at lot around here is because of their prices.

They can be the best out there, but no one can afford it, no one will care.

Just like the higher end Audisons, Brax/Helix, Genesis, Scan Speak, and even dynaudio don't get talked about much around here.

I totally understand where your coming from, but when a genesis or brax amp is in the clasifieds, it gets hits. but Cmass doesn't seem to example the Critical mass LS122 in the classifieds now listed yesterday at 12 and the only post is his own bump. Interesting I think:rolleyes:
