Because most people on this forum are broke *** college students that can't afford 2,000 clams for a fookin woofer.
$2,000 for a subwoofer. Just saying that out loud shocks me. The only single piece of audio equipment I would pay over $900 for is a Zapco 9.0.....
Shitting me. I love other parts of my car way to much. Why pay $2000 when you can pay $500 for the same performance and quality in a subwoofer. The UL12's only major selling point for me would be the weight, as it is *** ugly. If I had so much money I didn't know what to do with it, I don't think I would spend that kinda money. 2 UL 12's on 2 9.0's would be hot shit though. If they lowered the price to $450-500 a sub, I bet there would be more of a "boner" for them.
$6,000 for custom made wheels and Pzero tires + $2,000 for subs and amps + the $1000 or so its going to finish my heads/cam and nitrous > $9,000 retail in subs and amps. (I already have IDQ 8's and Horns, and Zapco/ARC amps and a 8053 and all my wiring, 275 amp ohio generator and batts.)
So we have. A 95 SS slammed on Asanti 22's 22x11's in the back 22x9's in the front. 5inch lip in the rear, powdercoated black center, a used 9.0 (or 40.1, SAZ3000d) on 2 or 3 12in SQ subs, making 350rwhp plus a 175hp shot. Straight cammin sounding nasty. System's front stage sounding **** good, subs sounding good.
Or
My car as it sits now on all black 17 stockers, still slammed, no finished motor work, but shiney UL 12's and 2 9.0's wanging in the rear deck. Sounding **** good, singing in harmony with my front stage.
Priorities man.
I thought about UL12's at one time just to be different. Then I slapped my self. - There was one for sale for around $500, that I looked at, but it sold.
My car has way to many other things going for it to worry about compensating in stereo equipment that would cost half as much as the ****ing car.
