Do I understand this?

Just trying to make sense of all the numbers I get from my amp.

kenwoodKAC-8406 Features:

• 900 Watts Maximum Power

• Class AB

• 4 ohms 70W x 4 Ch.

• 2 ohms 100W x 2 Ch.

• Bridged: 4 ohms 200W x 2 Ch.

• Bridged: 150W x 1 Ch.

So--I am going to have 2 6.5 JL3650 components in the doors.

Do I want them bridged? What kind of watts will they get? (off specs or actual)

and what would I have left over to power a future sub? 150W like is says on the bottom?

Just looking ahead and seeing if I could power 1 small sub. 8 to 10"

if you want to use the amp to also power a sub, you won't bridge it to the speakers.

Channel A left and right will power speakers left and right. set crossover to HPF.

Channel B left and right will be bridged to a single 4 ohm sub. set crossover to LPF. You can turn bass boost on for Channel B. this prevents you from needing to increase bass level at the HU, but it shouldn't be necessary.

bridged, the amp does 200W x2 at 4 ohms.

non-bridged the amp does 70W x4 at 4 ohms and 100W x4 at 2 ohms.

These ratings are at 14.4VDC and 1% THD.

150W output rating on the bottom of the amp is likely at 12VDC on Channel B.

one last question:

I returned the 4 channel 900w Kenwood amp and got this: Kenwood 5 Channel Max 1200 Watt Performance Series Power Amplifier (KAC7005PS)

It was the same price so I figured why not.

Should I bridge the 2 channels for the front speakers? I think this would give me a rated 100W per speaker.

please forgive my ignorance here---I know nothing about car stereos. This will be the first amp I have bought--and the best speakers and HUD ever too.

thanks

Yes I would bridge the 4 channels to get the 100@4 x 2 and get a D4 subwoofer as the amp puts out 500@2 for the sub. Actually decent output how much you get it for?
