im getting 2 12" 1240W infinity reference subs. I have the stock speakers in my 2001 nissan sentra. This kid at school said if i tried to use the subs with the stock speakers the bass would drown everything out and the speakers or subs would get screwed up. is this right?

the bas might drown your music out, but it wont hurt your subs. it would be worthwhile to upgrade your speakers tho.

ok, ive noticed when i turn the volume up pretty high my speakers or door (my speakers are on the door) start to rattle because of the bass... Is this going to still happen when i get subs or will the subs do all of the bass so the speakers just do the vocals and dont rattle? i dont want to have a limit on volume because my speakers will be rattling...

ive noticed that when most people get subs and decide to get their stock speakers replaced they find that at least one is blown. its not hard to blow stock speakers. this is probably why they are rattling. it is not necessary to replace the stocks if they are in good condition. the reference series is not enough bass to drown out your mids and highs. i ran kappa perfects with stock comps and it was fine. if you cant afford to get mids and highs right now dont worry about it, just do the subs for now and save up for comps later.

Not unless you set a crossover for them. And I highly recommend upgrading your speakers, its very simple and cheap to do if you get some good coaxials, and the sound will be sooooo much better, it's amazing. I can't stand listening to factory speakers anymore... Hurts my ears.
