First post to this forum, I recently purchased Rockford fosgate T142's and T1650's they are rated 40W RMS/80W MAX and 60W RMS/120W MAX. I was wondering if it was alright to run them from the head unit (25W RMS/50W MAX)? or should I am amp to power them? and what type of amp I should get??

Yup a 4 ch amp would be better than HU power.

most can be had for around 100 bucks and with some nice x-overs built in.

you'll be lucky if you get 10 actual watts out of a head unit man. Head unit power specs are a big lie all across the board throughout all the reputable to lower end brands.
