Do burned CD's play lower than store CD's?

What the hell are you guys talking about "Mp3 discs"??? its the same blank media!! You can burn any thing onto any cd-r/cdrw as long as its blank. It dosent have to be an "Mp3" labled disc to be able to be burnt with the mp3 compression files. Those cd's that are at the stores labled "mp3","data" are the same thing!

Oh and another thing. when a song or track is copyed and not in mp3 format, the copy will sound like the original did even if its the millionth copy

Not MP3 compat. = no MP3 playback period..
What HU do you have that you turn it up to 45-50??

My alpine never sees 25..

My Eclipse goes up to 80. Max I turn it up is 60...

I did a comparitive test among mp3's encoded at 128, 160, 192, 256, 320 and a wav file. I could generally tell the difference between 128 and 160 and the rest. 192-320 and the wave sounded very similar, however, and I couldn't consistently pick out any of them. This was done on some fairly decent audio equipment, as well. With all the extra noise in the car environment I would think you'd be especially hard pressed to notice the difference in anything over 192k.
