80A = 80 Amps - as in, the current required out of the alternator/battery.First of all what's this mean? And second the amps that I am still thinking about getting would be PG Xenon 600.1, Hifonics 1206D BXi stuff like that. Thanks.
Somebody give this man a prize:thumbsup:80A = 80 Amps - as in, the current required out of the alternator/battery.
The PG probably won't require 80A, but close. The 1206 can easily draw 80A.
You may want to consier the fact that amplifiers don't draw maximum current continuously. It would be closer to the truth to say it will never draw maximum current. At full volume playing music the PG will probably draw 30-40A, the HF maybe 50A
So do you think that an 80A fuse is sufficent? Or is a 120A fuse needed?80A = 80 Amps - as in, the current required out of the alternator/battery.

Thanks alot man.You shouldn't have a problem with either of them running through an 80A fuse. The only possible way you should approach blowing it would be full volume test tones. Even then I don't think the PG would be a problem at all...the HF, maybe, but still not an automatic blown fuse by any means.
If you don't blast test tones 80A should work fine, plus it will give you a nice safety factor for 4 ga wire (you need to be using 4 ga wire).
