Get one made is better. The HO is a typical prefab, tuned high and those subs are designed for the lows. It makes them pesky and muddy sounding. If you don't know any better you will like it and think its super loud. But it's not. And there for a while the port was falling apart in them.

Obviously I don't get it at all because to my understanding and even at the shops I've visited it's just a box calculator for the size of sub..don't see how it gets more tech than that? The sub of a certain size and watt needs certain airspace no?
Well it does get more technical. Tuning, port area, the right airspace. effects many things, how pesky it is, how close it peaks to tuning, response curve, ratios, and vent velocity. Your vehicle plays a role.
